Distinguishes incipient fires of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
The Lith-EX extinguisher contains the special extinguishing agent AVD (Aqueous Vermiculite Dispersion = liquefied vermiculite) and was specifically developed for incipient fires by all types of lithium-ion batteries such as LiPo, LiHV, LiFe and Li-Ion. It is extremely economical and uses nitrogen (N₂) as a non-flammable propellant.
AVD quickly covers the source of the fire, cools the source of the fire and forms a dense oxygen barrier. It shortens the extinguishing time and prevents an extension of the fire. In addition to the actual purpose, the extinguishing agent is also suitable for fires of Classes A and D, provided that no liquids have to be extinguished.
The extinguisher is intended for single use and not refillable. Due to its compact size with a height of 295 mm with a diameter of 66 mm and a weight of around 600 g, the fire extinguisher can be easily and space-efficiently transported. The extinguishing agent is free of labeling and biodegradable. Thus, both the application and the disposal are environmentally friendly.
The effectiveness and quality was tested by test methods up to a battery power of 60 Wh from the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) for Lith-EX fire extinguishers with AVD extinguishing agent. The electrical test up to 35 kV was successfully carried out by Apragaz in Belgium according to BS EN 3-7: 2008. The fire extinguisher is manufactured according to BS 6165: 2002.
For the extinguishing operation, remove the yellow safety pin and shake the extinguisher well. When aiming at the source of the fire, the extinguisher must be held vertically. To delete, the delete lever is pressed down. The distance to the fire source should be 1-2 m. The operating temperature is +5 ° C to +50 ° C. The extinguisher may not be used if the yellow safety pin is missing and / or after use (residual quantity) and / or after the expiration date.
The following checks must be carried out monthly after removing the extinguisher from its holder:
The outlet nozzle should be checked for cleanliness.
The date of production and the expiry date are at the bottom of the extinguisher.
