    Mikado Nitro GLOGO 690SX helicopter kit with VTX 697 blades

    This model has been designed and thoroughly tested by our Team Pilot Kyle Dahl, he has even flown it in competition already. The prototype took a respectable 5th place at this year‘s Global 3D, in a field dominated by top pilots with very powerful and capable electric models.
    Compared to other nitro helicopters of it‘s size, it is very light (from 4,100-4,350 g / 9.04-9.59 lb dry), which results in very good flight peformance for the given type of drive.
    The GLOGO 690 comes with a sleek and aerodynamic canopy which fits nicely between our electric helicopters, but has sufficient personality of it‘s own.
    The GLOGO 690 will not be offered as a conversion kit.

    Engines between 91 and 120 cu. in. can be used, together with a compatible muffler. Both has
    to be purchased separately.

    Mikado hasn’t had a model for the nitro market in 26 years, but the ultra light GLOGO 690 is the model worthy to bring NITRO back to MIKADO!

    THE benefits at a glance:

        Due to the plastic rotor blade grips, belt drive, and super light tail box, it makes the GLOGO 690 one of the (if not the actual) lightest Nitro model on the market.
        Because of the light belt drive and ultra light tail box, we did not have to use a larger main gear, or front mounted servos with bell cranks in order to attain proper CG.
        As a result of the small main gear, and direct control servos, we were able to make a very small and aerodynamic canopy which provides ultimate performance and looks for the model.
        Utilizes the Synergy XL Spec Clutch which provides no slip engagement even at very low main rotor RPM.
        One piece carbon side plates provide a stronger frame around the clutch stack area.
        Clutch stack is mounted using 8 x M3 bolts, providing very strong and perfect alignment.
        Designated wiring routes with frame grommets and zip tie slots, to take wires from the front of the model towards the rear.
        Large front battery tray allows space for the use of large RX batteries so you can fly all day without charging!
        Boom supports mounted with threaded rod and nuts, which allows you to service them without dismounting the muffler.
        Plenty of mounting places for auxiliary equipment such as remote glow drivers, back up guards, etc.
        The proven rotor head design has been in use on the LOGO 690 for nearly four years now. It is lightweight, and perfectly functional for this nitro model application.
        Recommended main rotor blade sizes are 650-700 mm, depending on your personal taste and style of flying.
        To power the GLOGO, you can use any nitro engine between the size of 91-120. In our testing we used OS91, YS96, and OS105 engines.
        In the beginning, there will be one gear ratio available: 8.15 with a 13 tooth pinion. In the future we may offer a 14 tooth pinion which will give a gear ratio of 7.57 for use with smaller 650 blades and higher RPM.
        The newly designed canopy of the GLOGO 690 combines the known and appealing design and visibility with fantastic aerodynamics: this helps especially with swift transitions within or between 3D maneuvers and big air aerobatics.
        Colored tail fins also help with visibility.
        Proudly partnered with Synergy Model Helicopters, to utilize their proven Fuel Tank, Fan, and Fan shroud, along with the Synergy XL Spec Clutch.
        With off-the-shelf components, an all up weight of 4.1-4.35 kg (no fuel) is possible, depending on your component choices.

     

    It utilizes tried and tested components from the existing LOGO 690 such as:

    • 106 T Herring bone gear which is quiet, strong, and efficient
    • aluminum swashplate with new geometry for quicker cyclic response
    • robust tail drive via HTD-belt, with aluminum drive pulleys
    • stronger blade grips with Ø 5 mm blade grip bolt

    • reinforced clamp ring for main rotor shaft

    • Stronger pinned belt drive pulley on the main shaft  
    • Herring bone gear with a smaller main gear, with a steeper angle (136 T, 25°), for a sleeker silhouette, less weight and improved running noise
    • Belt step-up gear to the tail gear box in the chassis
    • Torque tube
    • Sturdy aluminum open tail gear box

    The new four-part chassis made from fiber-reinforced molded plastic is lighter and torsionally more rigid than a traditional carbon-aluminum chassis.

    The benefits at a glance:

    • Facilitates assembly, maintenance and repairs.
    • The upper halves take up the entire mechanics including motor, ESC and servos. Servos are mounted directly into the chassis, with optimal position and angle in relation to the swash plate.
    • The lower halves take up the new and already known and proved battery quick release system (like on LOGO 500/600). Batteries will be installed to battery plates inline, which are held by two quick release mechanisms on both sides of the chassis.
    • The clever separation of the chassis parts increases the possibility that, after a crash, only the lower parts have to be replaced.
    • The chassis sports a big locating surface for the ESC, an opening helps with the air flow around the ESC.
    • In the chassis you find a place for e.g. a CPU cooler, so you can mount a motor cooler into the model permanently.
    • Cable guides inside the chassis allow for a neat and protected wire-layout to the ESC/telemetry at the front, within the chassis.
    • The clever design of the molds even allows maintenance of the tail gear box inside the chassis, without disassembling the chassis.
    • The torque tube system makes the tail boom easily dismountable, in case you want to travel e.g. to competitions.
    • The newly designed rotor head is lighter and looks more delicate, but at the same time gives you the same good flight- and control characteristics.
    • It’s as robust as ever.

    Recommended main rotor blade sizes are 750-810 mm, depending on your personal taste and style of flying.
    To power the 80, you can rely on reliable components from the LOGO 800 XXtreme, with 6 mm x 50 mm motor shafts.
    Motors with other shaft diameters can be adapted easily by just replacing the shaft.
    Two gear ratios are available: 10.46:1 with a 13 T pinion or 9.71:1 with a 14 T pinion.
    Motors with a larger bell than e.g. a Scorpion 4535-380 can also be used: just replace the stock main gear with the larger one from the LOGO 700/800 XXtreme, including the one way bearing and an appropriate pinion.
    The newly designed canopy of the LOGO 800 combines the known and appealing design and visibility with improved aerodynamics: the LOGO 800 accelerates faster and reaches higher top speeds when directly compared to it’s predecessor.
    This helps especially with swift transitions within or between 3D maneuvers and big air aerobatics.
    With off-the-shelf components and 5,000 mAh batteries, an all-up-weight of 5,500 g / 12.13 lb is possible.
